About Us

As President of NNBCAS, Alex leads efforts to strengthen cultural awareness, unity, and empowerment across Northern Nevada. He partners with local leaders and community organizations to expand outreach and celebrate Black heritage through impactful programs and events.

A seasoned leader and advocate, Alex brings years of experience in business strategy as an Executive at Bank of America, along with a strong record of community engagement through youth mentorship, volunteer leadership, and grassroots outreach. Also, a proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., he is committed to collaboration, inclusion, and service that uplifts the community.

Originally from Chicago, Alex earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Marketing from Colorado Technical University. He has called Reno home since 2013, and alongside his wife Keisha, he remains dedicated to serving the community with faith and purpose.

Rasheedah is excited to serve as Vice President of NNBCAS, joining the board’s work on scholarship, youth programs, and the celebration of Black heritage in Northern Nevada.

She is also Chief of Staff to the CIO at BILL, a Captain in the California Army National Guard, and a board member of NGAUS.

Alexis “Lexi” Alexander, a Reno native, is an advocate for bringing communities together in excellence to savor celebration and joy. As secretary, she reinforces the NNBCAS vision by stewarding the organization’s governance records—maintaining minutes, key documents, notices, and board actions with accuracy and care. She supports meeting preparation and ensures NNBCAS’s records remain organized, compliant, and accessible to authorized leaders.

Outside of her board work, Lexi finds joy in the outdoors. In summer she paddleboards and hikes; in winter she snowboards at Diamond Peak. Year‑round, she is chipping away at her golf handicap. Her husband, Keyair, is her best friend and biggest cheerleader. Their mutual support and faith in God is a cornerstone of their marriage.

Lexi’s commitment to service is reflected in her role as an analyst with the United States Air Force, where service, integrity, and excellence guide her daily work. She brings leadership experience from the military, her local church, and other professional ventures. She holds a BS in Economics from UNR and an MS in Strategic Intelligence from NIU.

Brandon Ford serves as a treasurer for the Northern Nevada Black Cultural Awareness Society, where he oversees the organization’s financial stewardship and helps ensure responsible management of its resources.

Professionally, he works as an Assistant Dean of Operations for the School of Social Work at the University of Nevada, Reno. In this role, he brings finance‑related, business‑management‑related, leadership and operational, and human‑resources‑related skills to help strengthen the school and its mission through sound financial oversight and strategic planning to grow the school’s impact.

Personally, Brandon enjoys being with his son. He enjoys numerous activities together and is dedicated to crafting what he hopes is the best childhood he can offer his child. In addition, he likes hanging out with friends, laughing, and doing comedy when he can. He is intensely passionate about creative writing and hopes to publish his own book and work as an author. He enjoys movies and simply being in his own world.
